Spicing Up The Diet With Low Fat Snacks
We all know – or should know, at least – that fad diets don’t work, at least in the long run. If you want to lose weight, get slim and trim, and stay that way then the only solution is to eat a healthy, calorie controlled diet, and take regular exercise.
But if you’ve been eating that calorie controlled diet for any length of time then there’s a good chance that you’re getting bored of the foods you eat. Healthy foods can be extremely tasty, there’s no doubt about that. But unfortunately there’s nothing quite like a packet of chips, or a bar of candy. Or – my personal favorite – a tub of popcorn.
As much as I love eating falafel, quinoa, and fresh salads with plenty of tomatoes, I still occasionally crave something a little more decadent. I resist, because I’m trying to be good, and I want to be able to fit into my old jeans again. But I still crave, and I still feel bad about constantly denying myself.
Then one day, as I was idly browsing the internet, I discovered that there were actually a wide range of low fat snacks available. Tasty sweet and crunchy things which I could eat without ruining my carefully designed diet! Wondrous foods to delight my tastebuds, but not impair my chances of fitting into those jeans again!
And, best of all, I found out that you can even buy low fat popcorn! I can’t tell you how happy I was when I discovered that!
Now I still don’t go overboard and gorge myself on these treats, but when I start to crave something a little bit naughty, I just let myself. I keep plenty of low fat snacks in the cupboards, so I don’t find myself dashing to the local store, which probably only carries the unhealthy high-fat snacks. And I no longer have to deny myself, and feel awful as a result!
